Alright, here’s the skinny. Next week I will be out of town at some relatives for 4 days to celebrate Christmas. They understand how my family eats, that’s not the problem. The problem is there will still be lots of cookies and other treats set out for grazing. Given the situation I know I will be snacking a lot because that’s just what you do during the holidays . With that said, I want to snack on good stuff. Last year Christmas was my first real “off the rails” experience and it wasn’t good. This year I decided I’m going into it with keto friendly snacks available. I’m going to be making up a few pounds of bacon and likely coating half of it in 85% dark chocolate What are some other suggestions for Keto friendly snacks?
Holiday snacks
Thanks for bringing this up - I need a game plan, too. I think I’ll hit the grocery store on the way to the in-laws. Meat sticks, jar of almond butter, boiled eggs, string cheese, lots of drinks (zevia, instant coffee, keto creamer [ordered online] electrolyte drink), and plan for fasted windows to limit snacking. Probably fast until 2 pm each day and carry a coffee or zevia at all times.
These are all great ideas. Thank you. I also forgot I’ll probably make some of my keto Caramel corn.
OK, so, I think this is the recipe - mix everything besides the chocolate together. Roll into balls. Roll the balls in the shaved grated, no-sugar chocolate. Freeze for an hour or so. Put in fridge. Eat when required.
When my wife wakes up, I’ll check.
Assuming I remember.
Which might be a stretch.
One correction - I think the chocolate is probably grated, not shaved as I initially wrote. It’s 6am…
