SECOND TIME I’VE DONE THIS.
I hit a serious plateau, 11 pounds from goal. (Thinking I may take off another 10 after just for good measure )
I couldn’t budge the scale. It wouldn’t move, even dropping carbs lower, which in turn make me sick.
I started to keep the calories lower, and introduce
SMALL amounts of carbs.
Really small, like half a cup of ice cream.
NO MORE!

The following day, back to low carbs! NO CHEATING.
Fastforward 5-6 days later, SMALL amount of carbs. (Bread knots from pizza shop. FOUR SMALL bread knots … NO SAUCE! One at time over a period of about 5 hours. One an hour and STOP )

Next day back to low carbs. NO CHEATING!
Repeat…

Today I’ weighed. I am officially 9 pounds from goal. Broke the last 10 pound curse.

I do NOT recommend this for ALL.
I do NOT reccomend this for those new.
I do NOT reccomend this for anyone who hasn’t attempted EVERYTHING one can possibly attempt trying EVERYTHING before going out of ketosis.
I do NOT reccomend this for those with ANY health related issues, with a doctor monitoring you.
Frankly, I do NOT reccomend this for anyone.
I do recommend this for people who are progressed in ketosis.
People who know their limits.
People who take it dead serious.
People who have absolutely NO other way to go.

It works. Perhaps not for everyone (ketosis is extremly individual)
For me, it worked. I thank God I had the guts to try.
Thank God I have the willpower to resume healthy eating immediately.

I do the same thing and it does work.

Problem is people choose to eat too much in calories then blame game carbohydrates.

It’s hard for most people to understand that.

No one seriously talks about what it really means to over-eat?

Understanding the differences between calorie density or concentration of calories in different processed foods (simple carbohydrates) or non-processed (complex carbohydrates) foods and amount?

Even a little tiny servings of different carbohydrates can be too much but you feel like you have eaten nothing? Tummy wants to be full?

Congratulations. You are no longer a Keto Noob.

You now know that is certain situations involving Metabolics, there can be a role for limited Carb consumption.

Nice point. It’s because too many believe the nonsense that"Calories don’t Matter". They don’t matter much in the beginning when deranged, nor do they so much in Maintenance, but once things are.normalized and you try to lose additional fat they certainly do. Otherwise people would keep losing body fat until you died of it.

I noticed the same after going back to carb to shake a persistent keto and/or oxalate rash. For 2 weeks of high but not stupid high level of carbs and expected to gain a heap on the scales, including water weight. Was surprised to find that after a week back on keto my weight was lower than when I stopped and my clothes were a bit loser.
Mind you, I had been keto for 6 months so was well fat adapted. I also wouldn’t necessarily suggest this option for people new to keto but I was surprised and happy with my results.

300g a day for months and months now and getting leaner.

Only highlighted the important words. I’ve had people more knowledgable tell me not to put this out there. Just wanted to be VERY clear to avoid getting YELLED at,

I love this post. You broke down exactly how I view it. There is a tradeoff for everything in life. being an adult we realize this. Caloric terms… Do not take in high fats, high calories if you’re going to do a small bump up in carbs. It will cause weight gain. I also notice if I take in too many carbs, I get viciously sick. Nausea
That’s why with those few small bread nobs I consumed them over a period of a few hours. Didn’t want to feel sick at my stomach. Thanks bunny.

What do you mean? Can you give me some specifics honey? I’m curious now,

Thank you! I was afraid to attempt this at first when I did it. I had to logically come to terms with it. So, I did what atomic bunny spoke on. Lessen the caloric intake, drop down the fat, introduce the carbs, slowly…
Last time I attempted this, it worked, however I did get very sick. Stopped a bit but was determined to see if it works. It did. I’m not really a huge proponent of carb dives, cycling etc…
You have to be really mentally strong, and be able to stop.
Some people I work with, with giving advise, they can’t stop. They fall off thus defeating the entire platform.
Which is why I lit up in caps some of my wording.(I’ve had people get really mad at me for speaking on this topic ) It’s not for everyone, and if you’re even 5 percent unsure, I wouldn’t do it. You gotta really be able to control it all or you’re gonna fall off the goal. Thanks for the great input.

Haven’t had it yet Paulene. However I did get really sick this last go round. My doctor said it could of been a number of things. First time I did ketosis was about 4-6 years ago. Can’t recall exact time.
It was incredible! This go round with the menopause, my age, just bought a my first home, alone, it’s very hard, but I love it… Taken all that into context, doc said it could of been physical changes as well as mental.
They all work together.
I got SICK Paulene. I stuck it out for months. Decide after having hormones checked, looking into diffrent vitamins, changing patterns. I still was sick.
Wasn’t until he said "Michelle you gotta bump up the carbs. Just take it up ten to fifteen "
I was horrified, I’d be dropping out of ketosis.
He said "your weight loss will be very slow but it’s a lifestyle so it’s gonna be slow anyway "
As soon as I bumped up 10 within 3 days, I swear I felt like a totally new person.
Some people just can’t stay below 20. I’m one of em. Slow progress but I feel really good.

Gotta do what works for you. :+1:

Sure. I’m a bodybuilder. Long story short, in 2016 I was obese and very unhealthy (looking and feeling). Used fasting and keto to drop from 245lbs to 155lbs in about 6 months. Went carnivore for 2 years and got back into the gym and last fall I decided to change things up and utilize CICO and macro counting to accomplish my goals. Last week I took the time to measure weight and found my TDEE was just over 3000 calories - and now I shoot for 1g per pound of bw protein, 2g carbs and fill in the rest with fats. I’m up 500 for the next 6 weeks to see if we can put some more size on - but I will be monitoring fat gain during this time to see if I need to cut it back a bit.

I still feel just as good as I was on keto and my digestion has improved significantly from the break that carnivore gave me.
