Help! Studies showing that diet is superior to meds

science

Hey, everybody. I’m giving a slideshow presentation in a couple of weeks to our staff at work entitled “Optimum Health For the Long Game” wherein I hope to create awareness of many aspects of health and wellness. I’ll be covering Pathology, Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, Play, and Social Connection - focussing heavily on hyperinsulinemia in pathologies and nutrition as powerful intervention and return to a truly human way of life.

It’s going well so far, but I would like to cite studies demonstrating the power of dietary intervention over pharmaceutical approaches. I know there are several great ones out there, but I can’t put my hand to them at the moment.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

BTW - hope I’m posting this in the right place!

I don’t have a specific study to site but if you go into the section with specific diseases/illnesses and click on those you should find studies listed as headers and that might get you started until you get more replies here. Yes, you’re in the right place.

Also, the show me the science, where you are, section should also be useful.

Okay, cool. Thanks! I didn’t know there was such a section.

Looking for papers by Stephen Phinney or Jeff Volek, either separately or together, would be a good start. Also, the bibliography sections of Good Calories, Bad Calories, by Gary Taubes, and The Big Fat Surprise, by Nina Teicholz, contain a lot of references to papers that you might find useful.
