Help me fix this!

I did it. I ate something I shouldn’t have and I regret it. Lesson learned the HARD WAY. It wasn’t a cheat MEAL but a cheat christmas cookie that was not worth it after the fact, not even the taste. I was doing very well on keto upto dec 23 I was down 32 lbs in 2 months. I started to go up out of nowhere so on Christmas I was annoyed and cheated.(mostly because my mom had cookies I hadn’t seen in a decade) I’m still paying for it. I’ve eaten strict macros since and I’m still gaining weight. I’m getting really discouraged but DO NOT want to quit. I need some advice on what I can do to fix this mistake. I hope the answer isn’t just “wait it out.” Sorry this is my first time posting and a little rushed because I have a 2.5yo and 6 month old. Duty calls.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I expect the answer is just that. Carbs hold water. Water moves water. Drink up, and breathe.

You’re not going to gain 30 lbs from a cookie. Just move on and continue abstaining from carbs. Keto isn’t magic and eating carbs doesn’t break the spell. You can possibly gain some water weight after carbs but who cares? If you continue keto, any glycogen stores will deplete and water weight will go away again. A little tip to deplete glycogen if it’s really bothering you, hit the gym fasted for an hour. Do some hiit cardio in a fasted state and no glycogen will survive. Safety note, if you don’t feel well, stop. But it will rid you of any glucose and jump start ketosis. Alternatively, you could join the new years fast and you would definitely fully reenter ketosis in about a day max

Lots of options, the easiest being to just do nothing but continue keto

I don’t even know where to begjn. I’ve seen ppl do just water, bone broth with or without a fat In it…? What all could you drink if you did a 24 hr fast? Then after the fast do you eat all your macros? If i did a 24hr fast from today it would end at 7:30pm tomorrow.

Great advice there ! I, too, find the need to jump start keto after carbing out a bit like I did this past week.

From a diet standpoint, I personally find the egg fast real easy. Maybe that’s because it’s an egg plus one tablespoon good fat every three hours, period. No decisions !

From exercise standpoint, agree - evens short, fasting ( or first thing in the am ) high intensity work out :weight_lifting_man: will jump start wonderfully.

Good luck with this - pls stay off the scale for a week and judge everything by how you’re feeling inside from a lean energy standpoint. All will be good soon !
