I’m tired of throwing away my spaghetti squash, but maybe they’re actually OK. I need some help. My last three or four spaghetti squash have had a white, soft, crystallized-type coating on the seeds and stringy pulp (The part you scrape out and throw away). Has anyone else here seen this inside your spaghetti squash? I can’t seem to find any answers! I want to eat my squash but I’m afraid. Please help! Thanks
Help! Is your spaghetti squash ever whitish inside?
Thank you for the link. It just seems so strange to me that no one else seems to be getting squash like this. I’ll have to ask the produce dept to cut it open before I buy it next time lol. I think this was my fourth one.
You should return it to the store for a refund and to let the produce manager know he has a problem. He/she may not be aware.
I worked in a grocery store in high school and people were always returning spoiled items. Some wanted to stick sour milk under my nose to prove it. I waved them off and said I’d take their word for it!
One time I checked out an older gentleman who bought a watermelon. He must have dropped it in the parking lot because he brought it back in split in half with a sad look on his face. I waved him towards produce and told him to pick out another one. Didn’t have to ring anything up or get my manager’s approval even though a high school kid. “the customer is always right” and we were told to make them happy. So I did! He left grinning.
Thank you! I’m planning to let them know. I may bring a cutting board and knife and chop it in half in the car to check it right away lol. I can bring it right back in and show them. I just hope I can get a good one soon.
