Help! Hit a Wall - Extreme Exhaustion

#1

I was doing incredibly well on keto until this afternoon. I am incredibly exhausted and fatigued! Prior to this extreme fatigue I developed a very metallic taste in my mouth - not the same taste as keto mouth. Like my tongue went numb, then I was overwhelmingly tired.

Leading up to this, I am 30 days in. I am rising early wide awake after only 7 hours of sleep - not typical of me pre-keto. Here is a little about my day this far. I woke up this morning at 5:00 am and got up because I was full of energy.

Ate breakfast early, hungry around 10:00 am, had a coffee, butter and HCW and a fat bomb. Ate lunch 2 hours later. My macros today including lunch 13 g carbs, 108 g fat and 57 g protein. I have not exercised today, been working at home on my taxes (that’s probably it LOL).

I take supplements at night - a multi vitamin, Fish oil and vitamin D.

I am a 53 year old woman who works out 5 days a week - intense cardio. Today was a day off.

Why would I be doing so well, then it a wall like this?

Have you been keeping your electrolytes up? Sodium, potassium, magnesium. You may have depleted those.

The multi vitamin I take has the following however I take it at night before I go to bed:

Iodine (potassium iodide) 150 mcg
Magnesium 40 mg

As far as sodium I lightly salted my food today.

I track on an app called carb manager. If I look at the details for today thus far based on the foods I ate:

Magnesium 63.6 mg
Potassium 786.1 mg
Sodium 1795.5 mg

I ordered magnesium citrate and I wills start taking it today.

And with that said, I have no clue how much I should be getting of these electrolytes.

Definitely more magnesium needed so you did right to order it. Epsom salts in your bath will help too. Magnesium sprays are better than pills as it’s best absorbed transdermally, that’s why the Epsom salt baths are good. Pills do still help though.

Thank you for responding.

I also ordered pink salt to see if that helps. Hopefully I can sort out this fatigue issue quickly as I was feeling so good until this energy crash. I slept 10 hours last night and I’m lethargic this morning. :frowning:
