Hello from Norway

I am new on this forum, but with keto.
I am half norwegian, half canadian and 100% original.

I did eat keto for 5 years and lost 40kgs. I did help with weigt loss and cravins, but did not do anything for my ME(real ME, not just cronic fatigue) . I fell off the keto horse because my ME got really worse, and cooking food and trying to figure out every meal for both me and the familiy( we have lots of diagnoses) , I slipped back to glutenfree diet/low fodmap and regained 15 kgs over 2 years.
I started over on keto in april, 114kgs and 160cm. Not sure what that is in lbs and feet/inch. I have lost 4 kg, 3kgs water the first week and 1 kg since that. It is quite slow.
I am really strickt with carbs, maximum 20g carbs, often 10-13g , 45-65g of protein and rest fat. Fat content ends up at 80-86 %. I eat two meals a day, eating window is usually 4-6 hours.

I do get a little frustrated this time, since I am losing so slowly, but everything is better than craving sugar every hour a day. I am very stubborn, so I guess it’s just to keto on.
I really need to lose all those kgs, ME and overweight is heavy.
I can not exercise, a shower sends me back to the bed on bad days. I have to use a wheelchair to be able to shop groceries and walk with a stick for short distances. I do have orthostatic intolerance, so I already eat rock salt as candy.

I eat a lot of eggs, we have chickens, they give us a lot of joy.

So, thats me, with ME in my rucksack .

The good need is that you have recognizable benefits from Keto, you know it helps you.

Be stubborn and do what works for you.

@Imse Welcome. Could you post what a typical day of eating looks like?

Thanks! It helps beeing stubborn and not just eat keto for weight loss. It’s a lifestyle. The two years off keto I really missed it, but I was (and is) really ill. Just thinking can make me ill. But I do my best.
My husband is no cook, so I cook and leave housecleaning to him. He enjoys keto food, he eat whatever I make. The children don’t seem to bother if I make pancakes with coconut flour.
They still eat potatoes and pasta though, one child have a rare syndrome and eating problems and one are autist and have problems with meat and mixed food. But pancakes and waffle are ok for them. They collect the eggs at the chicken coop and then we make pancakes.

I eat quite simple:
Breakfast is often a egg or two, scrambled og sunny side, a strip or two with bacon. I have lots of butter in the eggs. Maybe a little cucumber and stalk cellery, some times brie or other hight fat cheese. I weigh all my food to track carbs and macros. The breakfast ends up with ± 20g protein, 1-5g carbs rest fat ( total calories often 600-800) .
Sometimes I have hwc in my coffee, always measured and counted(to not overdo the carbs)
Dinner is often pure meat/poultry/ salmon, 20-40g protein, 5-10g carbs.
Leafy greens, cauliflower, broccoli or other low carb veggies, fat to get enough energy.
Total calories a day is max 2000, i can not go over that( too full), usually 17-1900. 80-86%fat.
My macros are ok, I eat til satisfied, are not hungry between meals and never snack. I drink water and coffee. No hidden carbs. I already have 5 years experience with keto. It’s just that this times the weight loss is slow and I think it’s mostly because my ME is more severe this time and my body has enough with just satying alive.
I now by experience that I can suddenly lose a lot of weight without any adjustments in the diet, and I can stall for many months on the exact same food.

@Imse what you are eating looks great. So sorry about the ME I am sure it is very stressful. Being under stress alone could cause the stall. Do you do any fasting?

I don’t fast now, only intermittent fasting. My ME gets worse when I do a waterfast , so right now I can’t. But I find intermittent fasting and two meals a day relaxing, energy saving not to cook all day😉
I have had ME since I was 13, so I don’t know what I miss. I have no idea how it feels to not be in pain and wake up refreshed.
