Hello there, I am glad I found this forum as I really need to have someone to chat to about the diet. People in my life are already bored with it and I don’t want them to think it’s yet another fad I will stop talking about in a week’s time.
For the past 10 years I struggled with losing & maintaining weight. I have gone from 84 kg (2008) to 60 kg (2010) to 110 kg (2012) (terrible yo-yo after a couple of years of unhealthy dieting). At 90 kg (2018) (lost through low cal diet mostly), I decided to go keto, finally converted to healthy eating and exercise. I think I realised I am too old to keep experimenting and need a diet that is proven to work (and won’t kill me).
Four days into keto I am at 87.9 kg (I am beginning to notice my waist again!). My macros tell me to eat 1850 kcal a day (which I struggle with, because in my brain it’s coded that losing weight = hardly eating), and I am surprised and pleased I am losing weight eating this much. I aim to burn about 1500 kcal a week through exercise. My goal weight is anything below 80 kg
