So I will apparently have to have surgery for eh-hem…hemorrhoids. 
Anyone have thoughts or been through this? I’m wondering if an extended fast would be prudent to, well quite plainly, reduce the need to go thereby speeding up healing time. For reference, I still have 40 pounds of excess fat that I could survive on for a while.

Expect to fast while in the hospital as hospital food is typically the most unhealthy that can be found. Hopefully it is an out patient procedure.

Yes I do think it’s in and out the same day. I’ll know more tomorrow and am hoping it can be done without general anesthesia as I have complications with that but I just don’t know if fasting is appropriate from a health perspective at the time of surgery.
