icecream

#21

It took me quite awhile to realise this conversation was about ice cream. Thanks for pointing it out.

I was thinking that I haven’t had ice ceam for about 6 years. But that is that mind hack where one rewrites their keto-history in a positive light. So when I looked back at old keto tracking journals from 2015 & 2016 I can see that the ice cream replacement I used was frozen blue berries mixed with double cream. Even that seems like too much for me now.

It does speak to the need early in improving n=1 nutrition about finding suitable substitute foods as a way of dealing with the decades long food addictions.

I have read the ingredients on these and they just turned me off. I have had real ice cream twice in the past year and regretted it for many reasons after…it never was something that I “had to have” so I don’t have a need for a substitution. I do remember reading a recipe for a Ketogenic Mason Jar Ice Cream that I would consider if I ever really wanted ice cream!!

Well it’s for people who want ice-cream without dairy… Definitely not the ones eating very low-carb!
Or who consider avocado some watery grass type thing like me…

I make my own ice cream but it’s nothing like “real” ice cream… I am not into the latter, way too watery, obviously inedibly sweet now and not even remotely eggy enough… But I am an egg maniac. I probably could consider frozen whipped egg yolks as some minimalistic ice cream… I never went that far. 90% egg yolk ice cream, I did that, that’s nice but a little cream helps and if I use cream as the sweetener, it needs more.

I never tried keto ice creams but I doubt I would like them. I hate most sweeteners and prefer to use little from the others (zero sounds the best but not works in every cases). And I prefer rich ice creams, not the ones full with water.

Lol, yeah I tried those and thought they were rather ‘interesting’. That said, I’m addicted to Hagen Das. :stuck_out_tongue:
