Halo Top Ice Cream

#1

What advice can anyone give with regard to the Halo Top ice creams? I like it but obviously only eat one serving which is about 6-7 carbs derived from sugar on any given day. Is that enough to kick me out of Ketosis? Otherwise I am sticking with the program very strictly. I have not yet gotten a blood ketone meter but plan to.

It depends on what else you’ve had to eat. 6-7 carbs isn’t going to kick you out. The trick with stuff like low carb ice cream is to stick to the one serving. I avoid it because I’d finish the whole thing then get depressed as I do the math and realize I just had a weeks worth of carbs.

Hello! I had to stop buying halo top. I absolutely love it, but can’t just eat one serving. I may gain a pound, but worse is the anxiety and depression that comes with it. They still use some sugar, so we’ve been making our own ice cream lately, using erythritol, stevia, and monk fruit blend. Ours doesn’t have the bad effect, and is fatty enough to not eat it all at once Haha.

Aside from tasting like crap, it’s not very ketogenic. Most of them have cane sugar, molasses, cornstarch etc. You can make FAR better stuff on your own.

Thank you. I will have to pursue that option. We have found flavors we really like in Halo and I do only eat one serving but I am still stalling and its prob contributing to the issue. Otverwise we are enjoying the keto benefits.

Thank you. We also have found favs but I am not shedding pounds like I want so will have to stop as well. Ill see about making my own too.

Well thats the hard part for me because I have found it very easy to stick to the high fat , mod protein, and really like to stay around 20 carbs per day. I am also usually just having 2 meals per day as well now. I have seen some talking about their bodies healing and I am wondering if that is what I am experiencing. My hormones were almost non existent and maybe that is why it is still hanging on to the fat even though I have been supplementing all of my hormones now for 2.5 months. Thanks again. I will just stay calm and Keto on.

I hope whoever works for halo top finds this thread and fixes their crappy product. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, they should make it terrible so people don’t want to eat the whole pint.

They do, people eat it anyway.

The Halo Top I’ve had was delicious. Your mileage may, as always, vary.

I stick to the lower carb flavors and have no more than one 4-ounce serving in a given day.

I actually prefer Breyer’s Carb Smart Chocolate ice cream. It’s creamier, lower in carbs, and about a third the cost. I just recently picked up a 48-ounce container on sale for $1.99. Cheapest I’ve seen it. Usually on sale for 2/$5.

I made a different recipe but same concept and oh so :yum:

I have heard rave reviews about Halo, however, I have also heard that it is delicious and hard to eat just a little. I have decided to avoid it for that very reason. But if you can stick to just one serving, it should not kick you out of ketosis as long as the rest of your day was balanced and within your macros. Have you thought about making our own ice cream? I purchased these cool ice cream freezer containers from Amazon and I am going to start making my own with unsweetened coconut and sugar free chocolate. Should be interesting
