Halfway through my first 48 hour fast

(Mark Kenyon II) #1

To be honest, I’m actual 22 hours in. But… close enough.

I’ve done a couple 24 hour fasts, and they’ve gotten easier as I figure somethings out. So, yesterday, I had a big salad for lunch (with oil, cheese, pepperoni, and Caesar dressing). I gave myself a good night’s sleep last night. This AM, I had bullet Teeccino with a little cream. I’ll have some Keto-aid for lunch today. I’m trying to keep it to that.

I’m excited.

Can you believe it? I’m excited for fasting! Hoping to get on the bike tonight. I feel great.

Okay, so hour 26 is getting tough. On my third cup of keto aid… still have a little/mild pain in my head… feeling a little foggy in the head.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Does keto aid provide enough potassium, sodium, and magnesium?

(Mark Kenyon II) #5

My Keto aid has Lite salt (Sodium and Potassium) with some Magnesium Citrate and stevia.

Bone broth so far is the only thing I take other than the supplements listed above. Always that keeps me from getting a headache on a fast.

I should have had some of that ready.

Now… to be honest, I had 2 brazil nuts last night. But I’m going on 45 hours now… I think I’ll do it.

And done. Did it. In the bag.

Here’s a few notes: Next time, bone broth. Keto Aid wasn’t enough.

After I started this fast, I saw other posts mentioning taking laxatives first. I’ll have to look into that.

Other than that… 48 hours! No meals. The only thing I did have was some cream in my tea and 2 Brazil nuts.

Oh, and not that it’s the main point, but as of this AM I am down 2.8 lbs from when I started the fast.

Nice job. It gets easier also to recognize when you may need something other than just water to keep going. It just takes some time to understand what your body is saying. KCKO
