Guide for Dietitians Practicing Low Carb

I loved this guide from Franziska. Great read. Forward onto anybody wanting to practice LC and get a RD cert in the US.

Franziska is a low carb US based RD @richard re: podcast topic update for Keto friendly practitioners

Yes I forgot her in my list on the podcast, as well as forgetting Karyn Zinn … 2 worthy dietitians who are practicing evidence based practice.

And Dr Nicola Lowth (Dietitian) in Western Australia - http://www.nutritioniq.com.au/

Loved the article but wondered about getting certified in the US. Don’t you have to take/pass classes in all the SAD dogma?

Yes although there are ways to practice post training that Franziska outlined that are LCHF friendly.

The curriculum won’t change on a dime, so I think it’s helpful to know how to do both things, get your certification and practice LCHF.

I thought so. Personally, I think it’d be very difficult for me to obtain a Bachelors Degree by sitting through all those hours of classes, then hours of internships in rhetoric without screaming at someone. :persevere: More power to those that can and do! The world certainly needs more of them!

In order to do that, I think I would have to have my podcast headphones on all the time. Picturing that made me laugh out loud.

This is interesting, even those of us who have no interest in the certification, could use this as a guide to ask any RD the right questions for screening out the ones who tow the party line. I had checked out a few when first starting this WOE, and their eyes glazed over when I started asking about lower carb eating styles. That is why I have read enough articles and viewed enough videos to feel like I know what I am doing now. :joy:
