We had Wellness exams scheduled today and all morning everyone was grumpy! They were grumpy because they are glucose-burners and had to fast for the exam. Meanwhile I sit here smiling not feeling the hunger at all!! Too cool!

My company has this. It is supposedly anonymous and you get $200 reimbursement for you and your spouse for doing it. They measured my waist, did fasting glucose, blood pressure and basic cholesterol numbers.

It’s anonymous and it helps lower our health insurance premiums. It’s just like a checkup at your Dr.

Dr Lustig made an interesting point in Hacking of the American Mind: One good thing about the destruction of the insurance industry as we knew it due to Obamacare was that now insurance companies are much more interested in having healthy policy holders. At least from where I stand this is evident in the proliferation of the nutrition, health and wellness coaching companies and employer sponsored tobacco cessation programs.
