Found this. Gonna have it tonight with the bird in the oven. Eagerly hopeful that it’s yummy. 6 bucks though.
Green giant mashed cauliflower
Wow! One half cup 3 grams of sugar!
Two cups = 12 grams of sugar!
Resources:
- Sugar Shockers: Foods Surprisingly High in Sugar So how much exactly is a gram of sugar? One teaspoon of granulated sugar equals 4 grams of sugar. To put it another way, 16 grams of sugar in a product is equal to about 4 teaspoons of granulated sugar. Keep in mind, though, that the grams of sugar listed on the nutrition information label includes natural sugars from fruit (fructose) and milk (lactose) as well as added sweeteners like refined sugar or high-fructose corn syrup. That’s why the label on a carton of regular low-fat milk says there’s 13 grams of sugar per cup. And that’s why the grams of sugar per serving in Raisin Bran (or any cereal with raisins or other dried fruit) seem unexpectedly high. …More

Fatty Livers Here’s another reason to reduce sugar intake. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is on the rise in the U.S. And guess what’s largely to blame? Sugar! High-fructose corn syrup hiding out in drinks and processed foods has been called a “weapon of mass destruction.” (5) Nonalcoholic fatty liver occurs when fat builds up in the liver. According to a study conducted at the University of Sydney at Westmead Hospital in Australia, NAFLD is present in 17 percent to 33 percent of Americans. This growing percentage parallels the frequency of obesity, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. And many Americans with the disease don’t experience any symptoms. Tuft University researcher discovered people who drink one sugar-sweetened beverage a day face a higher risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease compared to those who steer clear of beverages containing added sugars. (6) Interestingly, the microbiome is at play, too. You see, the microbiome serves as the interface between diet and the liver and modifies dietary effects. Scientists are actively investigating our guts’ role in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. What is clear? Drastically backing down on added sugar intake does seem to improve this disease to some extent. (7) …More
Not a clue. Probably to thicken it. Sems a bit runny. Doesn’t taste bad at all though.
2 cups of basic cauliflower has 5g of sugar so add milk (lactose) and a smidge of starch and this seems fairly reasonable. Obviously, if you just add cream and/or butter to cauliflower it will be a bit less but it’s not a disaster in a pinch.
Again, the cost of processed convenience vs. whole food… but it could be worse
Reasonable Rob. Sometime ketoish for convenience, and compliance. I have tried it. Bit runny, salty and garlicky. Like the demi crunch of fresh wanted.

I didn’t get that brand but I’ve had prepackaged mashed cauliflower before. More than anything, I wanted to see whether it was better than my own homemade. It was pretty good tasting but nothing any better than my own.
I did find that the plain riced cauliflower can sometimes be had in the freezer section for about the same price as what I could buy a head of cauliflower for that would make the same amount of riced cauliflower. It’s hard to pass that one up.
I do have some seeds started for this year and hope to start even more so that I can grow some of my own. Gonna try, anyway!
I bought the same brand like u said
So I didn’t pass it up
The riced Riced cauliflower
So plain = good and works for me
JAB ( just add butter ) = even BETTER for me:smiley:
Others like it as well
A win - win vs mashed carby potatoes
I’ll stick with boiled cauliflower zapped in the bullet with butter, cream & seasoning…
