Green Beans

(Tsering M) #1

I am assuming - green beans should be eaten sparingly?

#2

For what reasons?

Avoiding veg? Or other reason?

(Tsering M) #3

For its carb content.

I don’t eat any more than 20g of carbs a day. Therefore, no more green beans than allowed on that way of eating. At approximately 7g per cup, I limit green bean intake to meet that goal.

If green beans are wrong. I don’t want to be right…

As with everything else about this woe, n=1. Yes, take the carb count into account and see how you go. If all my carbs have come from veg, I tend to be way more lax but then I also count total so have a leeway built in already. Starting out reasonably strict is no bad thing to get into the swing of things. You can start playing around later and see what a big pile of beans does for you. If you find you start getting carb cravings you will know that maybe you need to scale down the portion. If you track, you can see the result in black and white. Be aware but, ultimately, find what works for you.
