Got my first “ are you sick?” Lol

I work in a semi retail job and I talked with a customer that I haven’t seen since I started this woe. He had a strange almost concerned look in his face as we talked and joked around a little. Then he got real quiet and looked me in the eye and asked “ is everything ok?”
I’m sure I looked confused but said I was good. He said “ you have lost a lot of weight and I was really concerned that it might be from illness or something.” Lmao.
I have never got to the point in weight loss where people worry that I have a terminal illness. Lol So I’m gonna call that a Non-scale victory.
I told him that I was as healthy as a horse and never felt better. I lost 20 lbs since October by cutting carbs and sugar. He was relieved for my health and receptive to some of my wacky keto talk.
It feels good when people notice my progress even though the scale sometimes slows and stalls and the mirror lies!

Heh, I love when people make assumptions. I have a teenage daughter and people always ask if she is my sister or my wife. She’s neither. :stuck_out_tongue:

My wife and our 16 yr old daughter look like they could be sisters. She get that all the time but doesn’t mind it one bit. :+1:t2:

I met a friend I hadn’t seen for 2 years and he was looking thin and sickly… throat cancer, thankfully treated and in remission. I felt terrible for him but cue the Keto for cancer talk!

The famous “ are you ok, we are worried about you “ comment.

Happens WAY more w Family members :flushed:

Well, thank You for the concern
“How is your glazed donut and Frappuccino tasting right now?..Sure, let’s chat “

I got this, unfortunately at 53yrs I do look older than I did with a fatter face. Unfortunately we are all used to seeing the population with fuller faces and figures so when you get to the lower end of your “reccomended” weight, you’re accused of looking ill. They’ll get used to it later.

Exactly!
Interestingly you said it perfect
The so called recommended low end of the scale
That has been mentioned by me or in some of the conversations as well to my beloved family members too.

Come back wise “ I’m good w the government set guidelines that you mention…What do you weigh, let’s see where your at on your BMI scale “

Mostly silence

^^^^^
And in good conversation of course.
