Got a co-worker to go keto!

(Ross Daniel) #1

Hey guys, felt like sharing this NSV with everyone. I was able to get a co-worker and, well, mainly his wife to jump on the keto train. What made this even better was his wife is a nurse and thought I was nuts! She thought I was going to have a heart attack when he told her what I was eating to lose weight and thus she wouldn’t let him eat that way either. She thought my cholesterol would be terrible and I would “clog my arteries”.

It was pretty easy convincing him it was a great option, the only option to really lose weight. He saw the results I had over the last several months. But he kept telling me that every time he mentioned it to his wife, she shot him down. I gave him some good arguments, and sent him some info and studies, etc.

Well, he informed me yesterday that they both started keto on January 1st. He had his last Coke, just before the stroke of midnight. I’ve seen him drink 3 or 4 20oz regular Cokes every day, so this is HUGE for him. He isn’t much of a forum person, but who knows, he may join up here. But either way, I was proud to have helped them out in a positive way by just being an example. I never pressed the issue or anything, I just answered questions if he asked and basically let the results speak for themselves!

Nice! I’ve found that it is tough to not sound cultish, so I try to tread lightly. It is easier to tread lightly after losing 50lbs…

That is so true! I’ve only been on it a few days but I told her I already have dropped 5 pounds and it peaked her interest. That’s a big motivation for me; I want to prove to everyone who thinks I’m crazy that this actually does work and is healthy. Talk is cheap unless you have the proof to back it up!

Awesome!
I have gotten quite a few of my co-workers and friends either doing Keto or interested in it. Keto Revolution!

As the saying goes, “proof in the pudding is in the eatin’” so let the results speak for themselves.

Preach it, brother! Amen!

Update: Multiple co-workers have started keto, they are making good progress. One is down 15lbs and the other 10.

UPS Freight driver said he needed to lose weight because his sex life “has gone to hell!” Someone told him I had lost 50lbs on a special diet. He asked me how, and when I told him I avoid carbohydrates and eat a lot of fat, he asked me what a carbohydrate was. After I gave him a brief rundown of what a carb was, he wanted to know what I ate then if I couldn’t eat all of that. When I told him I put butter in my coffee, eat bacon, eggs, cheese, steaks, veggies, salads, etc. His eyes bugged out like a Volkswagen. He absolutely couldn’t believe that I lost 50lbs eating bacon and butter, it blew his mind. I told him he didn’t have to take my word for it, he could look it up. So, I may have gotten a UPS driver on keto as well!
