Going to try a modified OMAD egg "fast" just for the hell of it

I know there are a few threads on this already, but decided to make yet another one. Anyone have any stories on their egg fasts and usual results?

I’m not going to give it too much thought as far as coming up with cool and creative recipes, just 7-8 eggs, either fried or scrambled with a little cheese, maybe an avocado on the side, and sticking with my OMAD routine.

edit - Starting this today. Pretty excited to see the results in a week

Nah, pretty basic OMAD keto for the most part. Usually around 6-8 oz of meat with a side of veggies cooked in some kind of oil, plus some added fats (avocados, sour cream, etc.)

Why just eggs? Why not add bacon?

Isn’t a bacon “fast” it’s own thing? The other posts I’ve read on it, everyone sticks to just mainly eggs and butter/bacon fat, but not the actual bacon.

This week I did eggs, bacon, sausage, porkrinds, avocado and some sour cream for all my dinners (I love breakfast foods LOL), so I want to see if there really is a huge benefit, at least for me/my weight loss, in sticking solely to eggs for a week

I wasn’t sure, that’s why I inquiring :grinning:. I spent a few months on the IDM community and Megan Ramos always talk about a ‘fat fast’ like bacon and eggs. She recommended these leading up to extended fasts or coming off a high carb vacation or something.

I would worry just eating eggs would ruin eggs for me. I love breakfast foods.

Ah, i see. Well i can confirm this week was definitely a very satisfying one with all the breakfast foods. I just hope that I didn’t gain any weight when I weigh myself tomorrow. Luckily I’ve lost each and every week, so I don’t want to break my streak.

My wife is going to do it with me (pretty much because I’m the cook and she has no choice LOL), and I know this will for sure ruin eggs for her. As far as I go, I could never get tired of eggs :slight_smile:

I did the standard fat fast with bacon, eggs, avocado, and mayo for 2 1/2 days and broke through a month long plateau and lost 4 pounds.

Oh and I had salmon mixed with mayo and more avocado for dinner lol

I had something very similar to that all this week, but just because I was craving breakfast foods for dinner LOL. I haven’t hit a plateau since starting Keto, so now I’m curious to see if I lose more weight than usual at tomorrow’s weigh-in lol

How long did you keep it up for?

I did one lb of bacon a day for 1 week and lost 8-9lbs! Can sub eggs for bacon slices as well
For a mix!

whoa, that’s incredible!! how many times per day? and just bacon by itself or did you have anything else with it?

OMAD. Just bacon. For men they recommend about 1 1/2 to 2lbs a day. Women about 1lb.

I might just try this after the egg fast. Those are great results. Did a majority of that weight stay off?

I had about 6-7lbs stay off out of the 8-9.

I only did it for 2 and half days. Just wanted to get the scale moving and it did!

I do eggs and bacon (OMAD) several times a week. I have had great success with it. Sometimes I have an avocado as well.

You do quite a bit of them each meal right? I remember you said something like half a pound of bacon and 7+ eggs or something?

I had 4 eggs and 3 slices of bacon each day this week, but that was plus sausage, pork rinds, avocado and sour cream. (hopefully I still lose some weight after that)

Next week on the egg only thing, I’ll up it to maybe 8 eggs, with a little cheese each day.
