Going in and out of ketosis?

Hubby and I have a rare weekend to ourselves. He wants to go out for dim sum tomorrow, which we literally would never have the chance to do with our bratty children. How bad is it to go out of ketosis for a meal and go right back on track?

You’ll probably burn off the carbs. <? Cough Wink>

But seriously, if your metabolism is fat adapted I would expect a day or 2 tops?

Lol did I mention we never have alone time? So I don’t know how many calories one can burn in five minutes or less if you know what I mean :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Also I doubt I’m fat adapted as I’m just finishing with week 2.

That’s a shame I thought you said the had the whole weekend to yourselves.

If you’re like me when I was getting adapted and cheated, then it’s a slippery slope, because in me in engendered massive carb cravings that I just fell right into. I couldn’t stop eating carbs the next day and the next, and it took a couple of weeks to recover and get back on track. Oh and that also gained me several pounds I could have done without. The guilt and chagrin alone was miserable, but I also felt like crap.

Too bad I did that more than once before I learned my lesson. Cravings just hijack your will.

Personally I don’t think it’s worth risking the possible pain at this early stage, and you should go out for something you can order keto-friendly, e.g., sashimi instead.

I was thinking of the ‘rare WEEKEND to ourselves’ but then i looked up how many calories burned running a marathon and it was just 2600.

But anyway, probably go easy on the rice - that really picks up a lot of water and can mess with outcomes for several days.
