Gluten-free foods are not healthier alternatives, expert claims

I wonder if they meant to say replacing Gluten with SUGAR is the real issue. These studies are so misleading…

Well, the ‘gluten free’ foods that I see tend to be highly processed, just as high in carbs as gluten foods, and often filled with even more additives. Plus (of course) being much more expensive.

My husband recently eliminated gluten in an attempt to find what was triggering his psoriasis. 3 months later he went back on to gluten. No impact whatsoever on his health, but it gave me plenty of opportunity to see a whole range of GF processed foods march through our kitchen and down his neck.

I just started calling it ‘carbage’ and carried on with my own version of VLC/keto/GF (which is basically no gluten containing foods or substitutes). I did try a few of his processed options, out of curiosity, but wouldn’t bother again. They aren’t real food.

Gluten free = loaded with other junk that’s just as bad, if not worse, than gluten

There is issue with cross allergens so people may be sesitive to corn or oats and not realize and those will still be there

I’m going to start making a DNS black list and put it in my Hosts file in my PC for any websites that requires me to sign up with them to leave a one time comment. But I suppose that’s their only way to ensure they don’t get too many dissenting comments.

Infuriating, isn’t it?
Can’t tell you the number of times I have backed off leaving a comment because the phaff of signing up/in and handing over an email address is just too irritating.

I agree. IMHO it is how they actual make money. They compile email addresses and sell the mailing lists.
