Glutathione, DHEA, and Creatine

Before I click send on my amazon cart- I wanted to ask some human opinions because my head is dizzy from reading so many websites. They are so hard to trust since each one is trying to sell me something different.

Here’s the three that I’m considering:

Glutathione, DHEA, and Creatine.

My main questions: Can I take these all at once? What is your experience taking them?

I have super low muscle tone and weakness due to Chronic fatigue syndrome/ adrenal fatigue. I’m over the keto flu but still feel very weak and it’s very difficult for me to exercise. I do light ashtanga yoga about 4 times a week but that is all I can handle at this point. I’m dying to go hiking or running or for a bike ride but my body won’t allow me because I feel so weak. I had this problem BEFORE I started keto so it’s not the diet.

More or less I’m curious

Perhaps others can chime in.

W creatine and DHEA is that needed from supplements?
Creatine “May” have an effect on ketosis. Maybe a YMMV

Good Luck

Rather than taking unnecessary supplements, I’d keep calm and keto on. Don’t worry about exercise right now. That will likely come as you get fat adapted.

I’ve been looking into Glutathione recently.

It’s my understanding that some oral forms of Glutathione are not absorbed well. However, as I understand it, S-Acetyl L-Glutathione can be absorbed better. I purchased this one recently…

…but have not been taking it long enough to say how well it does or does not work.

Something else to look at is NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine). It’s a glutathione precursor and may help to boost the amount of glutathione you have available. This one might be good…

…but, again, it’s too early for me to say.

You mention that you have chronic fatigue syndrome. Do you have (silver-colored) amalgam fillings in your teeth? If so, you should look into mercury toxicity as being a contributing cause; these fillings contain about 50% mercury and constantly expose those of us who have them to daily doses of mercury. If you want to remove them, you should carefully research dentists who can do this safely because if it’s not done using the proper precautions, it can be more harmful to remove them than to leave them in.

Here’s an article at Dr. Mercola’s site - it discusses glutathione too, so it may be of interest to you even if you haven’t had significant mercury exposure:

I’m with @JasonC

One might successfully argue that we’ve added so many supplements to our SAD because we’ve been trying to force our bodies into an unnatural state since they don’t like with the wrong food.

What effect?

@Miranda_1016 I just started taking Creatine - I work out a LOT and wasn’t seeing any muscle growth, but from what I’ve read, Creatine is a good supplement for almost anyone.

I’ve heard this recently too.

Just my (non-medical) opinion but, I would change one thing at this time (being early in keto, just after the flu stage).
I would instead stay with keto for 3 or more months and see if all of your issues resolve naturally (these forums are full of stories where this is the case).

If, instead, you take supplements, you may miss-attribute your problem resolution to the supplements when, in fact, it was the keto change.
If so, you might take some unnecessary supplement for an extended time. As well, just about all supplements are refined substances that were never found at the same levels in nature so are essentially foreign to the body and likely to have (potentially big and problematic) side-effects in the long term.

I think your Amazon cart money is better spent on upgrading to higher quality more nutrient dense natural keto foods.

If I was blowing all my money on unnecessary supplements, it would have been more difficult for me to buy a good food processor, a sous vide cooker, etc… lol. Since those are all one time purchases I’m healthier than I would be putting a bunch of supplements in my body and I’m still saving money!

I ended up getting this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Reduced-Glutathione-Supports/dp/B0013OULOM/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1531876323&sr=8-3&keywords=glutathione%2Breduced&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Reduced-Glutathione-Supports/dp/B0013OULOM/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1531876323&sr=8-3&keywords=glutathione%2Breduced&th=1

I don’t think it’s actually bad to take this and Creatine together…they are totally different.
I’m going to hold off on the 7 Keto until next month…then I"ll be 4 months in.

Thanks for the info about mercury poisoning!!! It could very well be because I have 12 fillings.

I have N-acetyl-cysteine; What should I know about it to decide if I could be taking it or not?
