I was at my local restaurant supply store (pizza oven in back yard, maybe will try fathead pizza in there this summer) but anyway I found this old fashioned whip cream dispenser. no added ingredients… just whipped cream which now tastes sweet. Great to spray out and put a few berries but also kind of an instant cappuccino/latte device. The cartridge only lasts a couple days so unless you’re having a party I only use a pint at a time. Not a required item but pretty cool. Paper and Provision Warehouse in Providence, RI had them.
Fun gadget for whipped HWC dispensing
I have one of those and love it. Whipped cream stays yummy in the fridge for days. I think Amazon carries the cartridges.
Love my whisk that I got many years ago. The shape is perfect and I keep going back to it. Also, have an older model Austrian whip cream maker that uses N2O chargers which works well. The only downside with it is it can’t be washed in the dish washer.
I bought us a Whippit dispenser for Christmas - definitely a bit of a luxury item but that is what Christmas is for. Along with a box of 50 cartridges. We use one a week, and are enjoying it thoroughly.
I own one. They’re awesome.
Some tips:
- If you use erythritol (or Truvia, or other crystals like xylitol), make sure they are fully-dissolved, as the crystals can block the valve, and when you dispense, it will keep on coming out.
- If you want to make flavored cream, same rule applies. Anything that is not fully dissolved can create problems when dispensing, so for stuff like cocoa or other dry ingredients you add, make sure you get them properly mixed before adding to the dispenser.
I love using this to make my morning coffee a little fancier.
I recently got a whipped cream maker from pampered chef party, it is a pump action thing. Takes like 30 seconds, makes thick whipped cream and I get a work out!
All this talk of whipped cream - just went out and knocked up a batch with some cream (full cream) that was just past it’s use by date - nom nom.
I rarely find the due dates to be correct with dairy. I consume past due dates all the time without problems. Obviously not weeks past the due date, but certainly ok within a few days.
I love love love this! I brought it to school and “my kids” made their own whipped cream for strawberry shortcake! 8-10 “plunges” and done!
Love that it comes with the bottom piece that becomes a cover. Massive cool
You can also use it to rapidly make infusions (NO2 version not whisk or plunger). The pressurization speeds up the process of extracting the flavors.
