"Friendsgiving" Report

So I am two months into the Keto WOE and we are visiting our kids in Houston Texas. They hosted a pre-Thanksgiving event today with all their friends. Basically it was a potluck with seasonal dishes and two fabulous fried turkeys. I ate a turkey leg, one third cup mashed potatoes with a tiny bit of gravy made from drippings, brussel sprouts cooked in bacon, one third cup broccoli salad and a mini dessert of brie cheese, pecans and a dab of cranberry chutney and a glass of red wine. Per the Cronometer, it looks like I didn’t do too bad for a holiday meal. My carbs were high at about 40 grams but other macros and calories were well on target. I think I’ll chalk this up to a day of “carb refeeding” or a “keep my body guessing” switch ups! I avoided all the bread/breaded/bread topped items, the hot apple cider, the table of sweets and carb-y appetizers and didn’t really crave any of the non-keto foods.
