What have you found to be the best way to freeze individual portions of shredded meat? I used to buy the tyson pulled chicken, but it unfortunately has maltodextrine and rice flour in it. Do I need to add anything special to prevent freezer burn or help it keep well in the freezer?

When I freeze cooked meats, I generally let the bags cool on the counter for a bit, then use a submersion method to squeeze out as much air as possible from the bag. I dry those bags and put them in another larger bag, say I used quart sized bags for the meat, I will stick 3 or 4 into a gallon bag for storage. I have a sensitive palate and freezer taste is revolting. YMMV.

@Teresa_Driver nailed it. It’s all about removing as much air (and ice crystal possibilities) as possible.
