For those of you who don't eat sweeteners--what do you eat when you're not quite full

#1

I have tried giving up keto treats but sometimes after a meal would like a little something else. What do you keep on hand for those times when you are still a bit hungry?

Thank you!

Tonight I made a fat bomb but after tasting one, I decided there must be something else that would work to curb my appetite that has no sweetener in it. (the fat bomb is not that good actually!)

Deviled egg? Dill pickle? piece of cheese? are there others?

Bone broth with a dollop of sour cream!

#3

How about a tablespoon of unsweetened creamed coconut? Comes in a solid bar

#4

where do you buy this? thanks!

Hard boiled egg, pecans, almonds, cheese, melt salsa and cheese together for dip with pork rinds, salami spread with cream cheese wrapped around pickles or green onions,

I’m new here and don’t know if links are allowed, but if you go to iherb Online, they have it. Its a green package, organic and around $3, or less. Its very rich in flavor and satisfying

Bourbon and 99% dark chocolate.

It depends on how you make your fat bomb…
have you tried it semi-soft like a pudding? on the warm side? a hard fat bomb isnt too nice unless its flavoursome.
put equal parts coconutoil, butter tahini, then bulk it up with LSA, chia seeds, shredded coconut, maca powder/cinnamon/carob powder or cacao (those last ones a ever so slightly carby)
then soften it with a bit of warm water, and have next to a cup of roasted dandelion tea… or a turmeric latte (turmeric BP with butter and coconut oil and cinnamon)

I also add spirullina, and chlorella to my fatbombs as these curb cravings (they are GREEN then and i feel like i am a bonafide monster)

Or have some cheese!

I like to finish a meal with a little bowl of full fat Greek yogurt, sprinkled with some sugar free coconut flakes, tiny bit of chia seeds, cinnamon and maybe a few almonds, it’s not sweet but it’s filling.

One or two teaspoons of peanut butter or coconut butter. The coconut butter tastes sweet to me. I do it myself by mixing desiccated coconut until it turns into butter.

My fat bombs are a mix of cacao butter, coconut manna (aka coconut butter), coconut oil, pure peanut butter and cacao powder - no sweetener needed as the coconut butter is naturally sweet.

Other “last bites” when you just need that little bit more include a couple of Brazil nuts or almonds, creme fraiche with raspberries, a square of 85% or higher chocolate, a spoonful of homemade blue cheese dressing, slivers of salted cultured butter, a bit of Brie, or some herbal tea (licorice tea is particularly sweet tasting)

Nice!!! Stealing.

When I don’t have any fat bombs pre-made my stand bys are:

Almond Butter & butter, mixed with a little salt
Pork Rinds either dipped in butter & salt or ten minutes at 400F drizzled with cinnamon & melted butter

100% chocolate, way too much :grinning:

Homemade fat bomb with cocoa butter, coconut oil, coconut cream, heavy whipping cream, raw cacao powder, stevia, Bourbon vanilla, stevia, sea salt, and a proprietary blend of spices.

Hey Mark, I love the pork rind idea.

We’ve been taking pork rinds, sprinkling them with curry powder and soaking in olive or avacado oil, it’s SOOOOO good, have to eat it with a spoon. Turmeric and chipotle pepper are other good mixes.

I wish I could like this several times over.

80% + dark chocolate. I’ve enjoyed coconut flakes (but not many due to the carb content). Most of the time my need for something more is emotional, so I have to consciously check that aspect as well.

Butter or mayonnaise.

A few raspberries or strawberries with some HWC that has been blended to make it thick, almost whipped cream. The berries make it plenty sweet without anything added. But a touch of cinnamon and a dash of pure vanilla extract takes this over the top.

If not berries I like a few macadamia nuts accompanied by either aged gouda or some room temp. brie.

I do love 100% dark chocolate as well . Also I make a fat bomb from 100% raw cacao powder and coconut oil with almond and vanilla extract added. If I want something sweeter, I do add just a few drops of liquid stevia. (no it is not the :smiling_imp:) But I do a version that has not sweetener added, I put almond slices and shredded coconut in the molds before adding the chocolate mixture. Almond Joy without all the sugar the part I didn’t like about Almond Joy in the first place.
