Flights of stairs

I joined a gym (LA Fitness) and they have a set of stairs to get up to the cardio equipment. When I first started, I had to take each stair one at a time, boosting myself with the handrail, and was winded halfway. 30 days later I can get up the stairs like a normal person and am not winded.
