No retraining is necessary if you accept that we’ve been lied to for decades about what is healthy based on false science and big grain growing corporations, all you have to look at is the rampant diabetes and other man made chronic diseases that have started killing people at an accelerated rate in our world. If things keep going as they are with the crap food that most people eat one third of Americans will be diabetic in 20 years. Low fat diets lead to an increase in “All cause mortality” deaths. Low cholesterol has been shown to have a direct effect on Alzheimer’s and a general lowering of health, especially as we age. Fat isn’t the culprit, sugars, starches and industrially produced vegetable oil are what’s harmful and killing us. :cowboy_hat_face:

Au contraire. I whole heartedly believe this. I actually believe this change in recommendations killed my parents. See though I was born in the 80’s, my parents were born in about 1940. So they grew up eating more balanced food. They were told in mid life to start eating differently or else they were going to DIE. Guess what, my mother ended up with acute pacreatitis that almost killed her in the last 90’s and then died of stomach cancer eventually. My father died of a severe aortic aneurysm that required surgery but because he already had fatty liver disease and prediabetes he didn’t make it out of the hospital. So I am acutely aware of the dangers of sugar/excessive carbohydrates. Nevertheless, instinct tells me don’t eat fat. Don’t worry though, my reason always wins out. I’m going to go finish my cheese chips witha small portion of salsa now. Maybe have some fat bombs in a bit.

Think of it this way, you know carbs aren’t healthy. You need either carbs or fat for your metabolism to run. You would starve on an all protein diet. We were told a lie since the 50’s to go low fat and eat more “healthy grains” in other words LFHC. This led to a massive increase in mortality from chronic diseases like diabetes, heart, liver and kidney disease, and cancers. So you’ve been mislead and lied to, your parents included. High fat diets are only harmful in the presence of sugar.

If you know the food pyramid of the 70’s was wrong and that it will lead to an early death why would you have a mental block towards eating a high fat low carb diet with all the newer evidence that it’s going to make you live longer with a better quality of life? It’s kind of like being afraid of the boogie man when you grow up, even though you know it’s just a story.

That’s why I said if you realize and accept that you’ve been lied to you don’t need any retraining. Knowledge is power. :cowboy_hat_face:
