Finally some successes!

I am mid way through week 9 now. I was feeling pretty discouraged for the first 6 weeks. And stopped weighing at 4 when I’d lost 6 lbs and my husband lost 17. I knew that was going to likely happen, but it was still discouraging. But I stayed the course.

Weighed in on Mothers day which was 8 weeks for us and had “only” lost 10.5 lbs in 2 months. Felt bummed, but then I measured and had lost 1" from belly, 3 inches from hip measurement and almost 3 around thigh. I was impressed. But I was not seeing it in the mirror for myself.

Here I am a few days later and all of a sudden my wardrobe is opened back up to me. I am visibly slimmer through high waist, belly and tush and can wear some things I haven’t in a year. !!! (I’d lost almost 20 lbs last winter with calorie counting and cardio cardio cardio hell. It was horrid and I was hungry)

Also, I have in the last week and a half been able to begin an 8 hour eating window/IF skipping breakfast most days. I think it’s making a tremendous difference. I may weigh on Sunday to see if something significant has happened on the scale since I am suddenly seeing it, but I am finally able to believe that the scale isn’t the most significant thing. It’ll follow eventually because I am definitely needing to see lbs go down (I have at least 50 to lose).

Just wanted to share for any other newbies out there struggling in weeks 4 - 7 or 8. The miracle will come. It will happen. You WILL be able to IF and maybe straight up fast for a few days w/out being miserable. I am hoping to do so in the next few weeks.

Oh, and if you haven’t yet, you really should try to Ketoade recipe on this site. It’s so very helpful for me. I just mix it up on the fly here at work in a cup and enjoy it.

Keep in mind that men lose weight faster than women, do not be discouraged. Intermittant fasting will certainly make the difference. I heard weight loss is supposed to stall after the initial weight loss until you’re fat adapted so even though you are not losing scale weight, there are internal processes at play preparing your body towards fat adaption. KCKO, you can do this

It’s great to see that you have some progress!
As Kate said, men really lose weight faster then us. I will recommend you not to look on his progress, but to enjoy and track yours and compare yourself only with yourself!
Keep going and soon enough, when your body fully adopts, you will see bigger progress!

Some more to add, weight loss is not linear. You do not gain pounds of fat overnight, so, any sudden weight gain you might see on the scale is water weight. Your body doesn’t know 50 lbs from 500 lbs and it doesn’t care. So, don’t get too stressed about what you think you have to lose. People closer to their goal lose slower. Women struggle with hormone fluctuations more than men.

Yep. I was told that in the beginning, but still let it get to me. But the hubs has completely stalled and I am starting to get somewhere. A lot of it is simply that I can SEE the difference. Not a lot in lbs and that’s fine. It’s enough to keep me going.

I just keep going, noticing other good feelings other than just weight loss, and measure occasionally.
