Feeling foggy during fasting

(Kellie) #1

Why do I feel foggy and tired when fasting? I just stated Friday where I have a 8-10 eating window 3 meals and then 14- 15 no eat window but man after that first meal every day I feel tired as hell is it because I just started fasting? It’s hard because I usually snack all day or every couple hours so this whole only eating 3 times a day thing is a struggle

Salt?

Can I drink BHB powder during fasting ? Or will that spike insulin

I’m not sure what BHB powder is but I use MCT oil in coffee during my IF window and it is very beneficial for my mental cognition and hunger suppression.

If BHB are just exogenous ketones I think it would help!

Yeah, I’m a newbie but this looks like exogenous ketones and it’s my understanding the won’t help with weight loss but will help with mental clarity.

Wait till you get a more experienced answer though! O carbs, might as well try it?

Interesting topic and was recently running this scenario in the back of my mind, the low energy is an anticipated but temporary ascetic expectation or discipline, but goes away with consistent cyclic intermittent fasting and time, until your genuinely? not craving (salivating?) carbs/sugar/glucose for energy…

I actually think this would be better than adding MCT oil. I’m one of those who think adding too many calories during a fast isn’t fasting, so anything more than 50 is a no go for me. 20 fits right in there. It’s similar to the ZipFizz I use for my electrolytes every day.
