Fat Soup?

I make meatballs very often. I’ll buy a cheap 5lb log of 73/27 ground beef and bake the whole thing in one night, keep them in the fridge and just eat them exclusively until they’re gone.

However, there is always a ton of tallow left over. I include the tallow with every meal, but i never come anywhere close to consuming all of the tallow.

Does anyone see a problem with heating up the tallow, adding a bit of salt, pepper and garlic powder and just drinking it from a bowl like a sort of, “Fat Soup?”

I’d guess that the majority of people don’t have a productive enough gall bladder for that and would result in disaster pants. If you’re going to try it, I’d recommend starting with small amounts to be safe.

Plenty of people freeze their rendered fat for snacking - it won’t go straight through the digestive system like it does in liquid form - or go a step further and make pemmican. I just keep mine for cooking.

How much of what you keep is water? Or is it all fat?

When we were making bacon, we kept the fat for a while. But then I realized we didn’t use it, so I started tossing it. (We make a lot less bacon now, mainly because I find I overeat bacon.)

You do you. I would find that nauseating as I dislike fatty liquids (and seriously dislike tallow anyway). I do love eating solid super fatty things so the fattiness isn’t the problem, I just like my liquids lowish-fat.
If it works for you, I see no problem with it!
