Fat sick and nearly dead, Keto explaination

I have been binge watching food documentaries on Netflix all week and was watching “Fat Sick and Nearly dead”. A small cartoon explanation of what happens when we are not eating (basically fasting) is pretty much explaining keto in the film. https://youtu.be/xu-Zba82LH8?t=13m4s link to low quality version of this portion of the movie.

Me thinks this might be a…

How is that explaining keto at all, you don’t starve when you go into ketosis. Or are you saying that a fasted state is ketogenic?

It’s all OK except his conclusion is wrong, he has to keep hitting the reset because he keeps going back to carbs. He has caveman right, but environment wrong. The majority of evolution from what we would call apes to what we would now recognize as human happened during an ice age. We did not evolve eating fruits and vegetables.

yes his conclusion is wrong but essentially we do starve our bodies of the energy (carbs) until it converts over to using fat reserves as an energy source then we can utilize our body fat and the fat we eat. during the time where we are in that transition many people get keto flu, feel tired and once we get into ketosis we feel better than before.
