Well of course the first to be mentioned has to be Jason Fung. He and Jimmy Moore have a new book out which is a corker.

Jimmy and Jason also have a new podcast called Fasting Talk

Jason has his own blog which discusses all the health issues around the patients he treats but includes plenty on fasting.

Michael Mosely is popular on UK tv and now travels and speaks internationally. His main focus has always been the 5:2 diet which he now combines with the Mediterranean diet in his new book The Fast Diet.

I really wish there was more information out there on fasting. I’ve listened to Fung/Moore’s book twice and am considering a third time because I can’t find anything better. I’m not interested in the spiritual aspect, I want the science.

I did watch a documentary yesterday which someone on here recommended which I really enjoyed: The science of fasting. It’s a freebie on Amazon Prime Video.

I noticed it’s been a year since your post, anything else come out since then I should check out?

Hmmm. There was a doc about a place in Russia - have you seen that one? This is the link. I haven’t actually watched it yet but women in my FB group have and enjoyed it.

If you plug in “fasting” on YouTube there are also quiet a few Ted talks coming up - they would be worth exploring. You curl watch them all and then post us a review

Hope that helps, sorry I haven’t got more for you.

The Science of Fasting is the one I just watched, I highly recommend it. Gives a nice perspective on fasting from somewhere other than the West. The Soviet Union had state sponsored fasting programs 50-60 years ago. Pretty interesting.

I’ll do more YouTube searching, I’ve watched quite a few already. I’m just amazed that a tool as powerful as fasting has maybe 3 credible books on the subject. Two were written 100 years apart and to be honest I don’t even know if there’s a third. I mean I guess it’s a simple concept (don’t eat) but it’s one of those things where I feel like the more information I have the better I feel about it.

The only other thing I can think is to come at it from a slightly different perspective and try searching within say a religious context. That may open up sites and text that gives you useful and valuable info.

You’re probably right. This feels like an untapped market to me, I expect this to change soon.
