Fasting and fat macro

Hi All,

I am curious about IF. I’m 10 weeks into keto. I was losing then gaining and going back and forth (only count carbs). A few weeks ago, I started counting fat and realized I had to add a bunch to meet my macro. I started losing consistently. It’s not great, but about 1-2 lbs a week. I really want to start IF for autophagy, but am worried about not getting my macros. I’ve also heard that you don’t need to meet those fat macros once you are keto adapted (not sure if I am or not). I’m at a loss of what to do at this point.

If you do 16:8 then you have plenty of time for 2 or more meals in that eating window. If you try OMAD (23:1) that is really one big meal which may be harder in many ways. OMAD is generally considered better for maintenance than weight loss phases anyway. High fat snacks may help like cheese slices, macadamias, etc.

you’ll know you are fat adapted once your hunger abates. Hunger as you knew it in carb eating days will just go away - I think that is the best clue that you are fully fat adapted.
