Fast Food Burger Battle: Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's

#1

What is your preferred fast food burger if you had to choose? Which burger do you order? I rarely go to these but once in a while on the road have to pick something.
I lean towards Burger King. Do you tell them to hold the buns at least or just throw them out? Definitely no ketchup. The mayo sauce on a Whopper is pretty good. I know 5 Guys and In N’ Out are way better but they’re less common.

My go to fast food is actually usually Chipotle burrito bowl or a Jimmy John’s unwich lettuce sandwich but those aren’t as common.

I don’t know my favorite on keto, because I haven’t eaten at a fast food restaurant since starting.

However, prior to keto, I loved Burger King Whoppers or Whopper Jrs. (no onions please).

If your in keto, and on the road, and hungry, grab a couple of any burgers, ask for burgers without buns, maybe cheaper, failing that sling the buns, drive on. Would imagine they contain mostly fat. You have no choice, be cool.

#4

Burger king, don’t like the taste of the others

I should give BK a try. I usually do either Wendy’s for a baconator with no bun, no ketchup, or McDonald’s for a Double Quarter ponder with cheese no bun, no ketchup.

If I lived closer to an In-n-Out, I’d be hitting a protien style 3x3 ALL THE TIME.

#6

Carl’s Jr. and In-N-Out are my main ones.

Wendy’s for sure! McDonald’s is cheap and convenient if in a rush. But Wendy’s tastes so much better and fresh. I actually don’t like the taste of burgerking burgers idk why.

Burger King double cheeseburger plain.

#9

Double Baconater would be my #1
“Low Carb” Whopper #2

McDonald isn’t food, doesn’t spoil and insects don’t want it. That’s enough to scare me away…

I can see it now, angry keto/paleo protestors with picket signs hanging around fast food restraunts demanding keto menus? Lol

‘KETO MATTERS!”

‘REVERSE ELECTRON TRANSPORT MATTERS!’

‘WHY ARE YOU MAKING US FAT?’

(TJ Borden) #11

Name the time and place and I’ll be there.:rofl::rofl:

I like Culvers; don’t know if they are very wide spread but they’re pretty good. A double cheeseburger with a knife and fork works out well.

It’s probably got ketchup (ie., sugar) in it. I don’t frequent BK, but I’d see if they have regular mayo packets instead.

We’ve got this regional restaurant that has GREAT burgers, but they also serve a protein plate:

Protein Diet (Beef or Chicken) w/ Side Salad
(Two burger patties or two chicken breasts, cheese, bacon & side of chili, green chile, or pico de gallo)

One of my favorite places to eat!

We hit up Carl’s Jr ( aka: Hardee’s on the East Coast), and get the Lettuce wrapped Super Star with Cheese - no special sauce (contains ketchup), and no tomato. Also their Grilled Chicken Bacon Club without: Bun (duh!), and tomato. Both are pretty good. Five Guys for sure but DAMN I miss their fries!!! I get their cheese burger with bacon and load up on everything keto friendly. They also have a great hotdog as well. Wendy’s - Lettuce wrapped Dave’s double: No chup or mato, Jimmy John’s unwiches are good.

Someone tell the top brass at MOD pizza that they need a keto friendly pizza crust and I’ll about live there. I absolutely LOVE MOD pizza - and please don’t tell me to just put everything in their salad bowl hahaha!

I get a double whopper with no bun and use the meat as the ‘bun’ with all the salad inbetween, messy, but good.

Oh man! I thought for a sec that link was to Whataburger! Love me some Whataburger!!!
Hahah

…because we all know that 3x3 protein style is the REAL animal style

Ha! Sorry, no.

But If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend it! :+1:

McDonalds and I do have the ketchup sorry. But interestingly I have been fasting instead. Have been traveling a lot looking at colleges lately with one of my kids and yesterday we were about 2 hours away from home having barely eaten all day. I ended up at Dunkin Donuts just having a half and half latte. He was starving so he had a sandwich (not keto anyway). This is the only time I allow myself McDonalds and in 3 or 4 recent college trips I have not caved yet. Came close yesterday and decided I would be home in 3 hours so why bother?!
