Found via Twitter: a post by Break Nutrition about excess Omega-6’s being the ‘root of all evil’ with regard to “Diseases of Civilization”
Lots of things really grabbed my attention (I’ve been re-reading for like 2 hours!), but here are a few “sound bites”:
“Linoleic Acid in the diet is in fact required to induce cancer in animals experimentally.”
“A reduced LA diet has been shown to reduce IR in two human studies; one measured OxLAMs (oxidized linoleic acid metabolites - toxins), which were also reduced.”
One of his opinions/conclusions(?) is that simply piling on Omega-3s in an attempt to balance Omega-6s won’t fix the problem.
This hypothesis goes a long way to explain why the lchf/keto woe has so many benefits.
If, like me, you take a while to “absorb” acronyms, have a paper & pen(cil) handy, because he piles them on at a rate of about 1 per paragraph.
