Erythritol taste

(Allie) #21

Still just sugar

(Jay Patten) #22

Yeah zevia is super gross to me, too

#23

Stevia leaves me with a really bad bitter aftertaste, yet erythritol is fine. Xylitol is the other one i like. I think xylitol tastes the closest to sugar of all the sweeteners.

Most of the others are too fake tasting. All the fizzy drinks just taste of chemicals to me.

(Lee) #24

It’s not a chemical; it’s a sugar alcohol.

(Miss E) #25

I know, but it tastes like chemicals. I understand the mechanics of it but can’t stand the taste.

(Sophie) #26

Be aware that Xylitol can be lethal to Dogs. :dog: :dog2: :poodle:

#27

Yes, thanks.
Am very aware. I banned it from the house the day I discovered that factoid, and now only have it when out and about.

It has also made me paranoid about anyone giving the dogs ANYTHING that I haven’t vetted in detail. Did you know that there are some brands of peanut butter than now have xylitol in them! And some people give peanut butter to dogs as a treat. :persevere:

(Miss E) #28

Usually it’s diet or light peanut butter.

(Sophie) #29

Thanks, I did not know that! Makes me glad we don’t do much peanut better around here.
This one will beg you like you’ve never been begged before… :expressionless:

I’ve only tried the Swerve brand, but I was pleasantly surprised that there is no aftertaste (to my tastebuds). I cannot handle the taste of stevia, though. It’s so interesting how we all taste these things differently.

#31

Me too, I have like 9 bags of it in my pantry, which sounds like a lot but it really isn’t. Each bag only has a cup and a half of their product. I wish they made bigger bags and priced them appropriately since you’re buying in bulk.

(Miss E) #32

Email them and ask for a bulk buy. I don’t know if they have it in Australia but sounds like it’s worth checking out.
