Episode #133 and OGTT

(Bob M) #1

Like Richard, I had an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test done, while on low carb (no high carb build up). It was supposed to be three samples, one before, one at an hour, and one at 2 hours. Unfortunately, they only took the one before and one after. I was wearing a continuous glucose monitor. Here are the results.

I never experienced hypoglycemia. I wonder why? At that time, I’d been low carb about 4 years.

Starting blood sugar: 99 (US units), Insulin: 10.3 uIU/mL
At two hours: blood sugar: 119; Insulin: 41.3

(Note: my GGM gave me 99/5.5 at start and 135/7.5 at 2 hours)

It is a brutal test. I could not keep my eyes open. Had to sleep.
