Conclusion: Red meat is unhealthy.

But did it occur to these wizards of stats that confounding carbs (plus smoking, drinking, lack of exercise, etc.) might also have something to do with the “associated” health outcomes?

Epidemiology is good for many things. It is not good for studying nutrition …ever!

(ok maybe in rare cases like for Hydrogenated oils but I so wish journals would stop publishing epi nutrition studies) I don’t think you could pay me enough to work on one…
