Enlightened Ice Cream

Anyone tried this yet? I tried the peanut butter one and I think it’s quite a bit better than Halo Top! 6 net carbs.

Low fat…:frowning: What’s in the ingredients & carb count? I love ice cream -my biggest downfall!

Hmmm… cane sugar, milk protein isolate, corn fiber…I wouldn’t eat it. But I’m still waiting for a good LC ice cream. I also do not go by " net" carbs, do this has too much for my budget. I’ll stick with a hand full of frozen :strawberry: & hwc. Simple ingredients & I know what I’m getting without breaking the (carb) bank. Thanks for sharing tho.

I’m very much a dirty keto eater. Net carbs are all I’m really looking at.

I make my own - the base recipe is just HWC, eggs and artificial sweetener with flavoured essence(s) of choice. It’s a lovely treat and fits in easily with my macros. Buying an ice cream maker turned out to be a great investment!!

Yea-got a great ice cream maker & LOVE IT / but makes too much ( & half batches don’t work in it) when I freeze the leftovers, it’s too dang hard to dig into when I want some!

I make approximately 1 litre at a time, then portion it out into 10 individual serves (the little 236g Pyrex bowls with lids are perfect for this) and pop them in the freezer. Vanilla is my favourite and I love to throw a few strawberries on top for added yumminess. I find that if I take a bowl out of the freezer first, by the time I’ve washed, hulled and cut up 2-3 strawberries the ice cream has defrosted enough to get a spoon through quite nicely.

I’ll have to try this

I’ll pop the recipe into the Recipes section later on today for you when I get home from work.

I’ve heard a bit of vodka keeps it from freezing so hard. Kind of same principle as making a slushy.

#14

yes. any white alcohol helps to keep it from freezing into a brink and doesn’t alter the flavor…just a couple of tablespoons. i love my electric ice cream maker.

Just so you know, They do make flavors that do not have sugar.

#16

I was thinking the same thing, (assuming you are talking about the Enlightened brand) but I looked on their website and didn’t find it. I think I must be remembering that So Delicious has a few sugar free options.

There are at least 2 flavors of bars and three flavors pints. The chocolate fudge bars and almond bars, the coffee ice cream and i can’t remember off the top of the others as they didn’t have them at my local store.

I’ll have to check out my store soon. They are clearance a bunch of the ice cream, so I assume they’ll be bringing in something new.
