corn maltodextrin sounds like sugar…and it does say sugar right after salt…i guess they can get away with saying no carbs because so little is used…it does taste good and it’s very convenient when there’s no broth around…again i like the fact that it desolves quickly…this is the label for the Massel Vegetable powdered broth.

Just fixed me some bone broth made with chicken wings cooked for 18 hours in slo cooker. I add a little salt or kerrygold to relieve the salt craving. Will try adding an egg into the hot liquid for substance. Thanks All.

@Buttonwillow, doesn’t that brand mess with your bg? Maltodextrin is not included in carbs for some ridiculous reason, but it’s chemically a bunch of glucose molecules hooked together (ie, a carbohydrate…) It was my favorite brand but it spikes my bg. And has a higher glycemic index than table sugar. I’d love to find another good bouillon brand without maltodextrin, but so far no luck.

No, I have no problem with the obviously problematic ingredients. The amount consumed in each serving is miniscule and they don’t adversely affect me.
