Emergency Gallbladder Surgery

Yup. Had 2 attacks and it’s now out. Ouch. taking it easy this week.

I’m really bumming that I have to watch my fat intake for a few weeks… Have to increase it slowly.

Gotta say I hate not being in Keto.

Anyone have any recommendations? I’m staying away from carbs… mostly protein and veg – but damn it… I’m hungry now … It sucks.

Have you tried an extended fast? Once you get past the first couple of days - the hunger subsides.

smaller more frequent meals. the whole point of the gall bladder is to release a large amount of fluid at once, after a big meal. for now, you are on a drip system, instead

I’d say you’d probably have to start taking bile salts to make up for it. From what I’ve read they work fine for most people. This is based on nothing but I’d assume the faster you get those in you and go back to keto the better. Your bodies already used to eating this way, you just have to make up for some missing bile now. I’d think you’d be in much better shape than somebody that’s already had it out and THEN started keto, although plenty of people do that as well! You’ll be good! KCsKO! (slowly) haha.
