Embedding YouTube videos in posts

Can someone tell me how to post a YouTube video within a post so that you can see the image of the video within the post instead of just a hyperlink? I’ve seen others do it but I can’t seem to figure it out.

I tried to find an answer to this, but was unsuccessful. I also tried posting this in the “How To” section, but it didn’t allow me to create a new topic.

To post that, I found the video and then hit “share” and then " copy link’". When I pasted, the picture came up.

Oh, for Pete’s sake… thank you, Kib.

Welcome. That’s Ken Berry, not a video promoting sugar, btw. I didn’t watch it but you’d probably approve, he’s a big beef butter & eggs fan.

I love Ken’s expression in that snapshot :joy::joy::joy:

Since all YouTuber’s are unoriginal as hell, the “sugar diet” has been beaten to death. Pretty damn misleading, and actually pretty interesting if he wound up going into the science behind it, being Ken Berry, I’m sure he didn’t, looks better for clicks, spoiler, it’s not an actual “sugar diet” as in, you eat all sugar, it’s not a WOE and nothing like it sounds like. It’s extreme biohacking if anything.

I finally watched it. Berry’s gloriously - or dangerously - sarcastic here. You’re right, he doesn’t get into the science at all, just a satisfying ramble.

My aunt’s been in hospital for a couple of weeks, and I spent a few days marveling that so many of the nurses and aides were pregnant, until I realized it’s just the barrel shape caused by scrubs plus an extra 40 lbs. Kind of shocking.

I had a (long awaited) outpatient surgery last week, and between it and preparations, spent a few hours in waiting areas in a couple of different hospitals. I was rather surprised how many of the women fit that general “barrel shape” descriptor. When you consider the official dietary guidance, it makes lots of sense, it’s just disappointing to see.

Any very low fat, very high carb diet does work, and even benefits insulin resistance. The only thing is that it’s hard to get enough protein (only so many lean proteins), and it’s unpalatable. Or at least I found it so after a while. And if you add in too much fat, then you’re at high carb + higher fat = bad.

Ya, it’s a weird balance.

Denise Minger has a lecture on YouTube discussing the Kempner rice diet and how it worked. Her point is basically what you say here. Kempner’s diet helped quite a few people, but many of his patients found it so difficult that they asked him to whip them (he only did it at their specific request, Denise says) to help them remain compliant. As you mention, the key is to place an extremely low limit on fat intake.

By contrast, a low-carb, high-fat diet is much more palatable and easier to manage.
