I’m on a different statin but I’m assuming the metabolic pathway is probably similar for simvastatin. I am challenged to get my ketones up when fasting. I’m wondering if this action contributes to my long stalls.

It’s unclear how ketones affect stalls. I’m still losing weight while my ketones are very low, usually <0.5 mmol/l in the mornings. And they’ve been that low for a long time now.
