Dry Fasting

(Dennis Giger) #1

I completed a 45 hour fast. During which 24 hours were a dry fast (two 12 hours non consecutive ). When I took my blood sugar at the end of the 45 hours. It was extremely high (for me; 111). Usually, after a fast of that duration my blood sugar is between 75-85. My question is does dry fasting effect blood sugar that much? ,

hmmm…you could “theoretically” say that since you dry fasted you were a bit more dehydrated. Being more dehydrated, the glucose concentration in the blood will be higher.
