Dr reduced Metformin, question

(Jane Hull) #1

Hi all. I have been Keto for 2 1/2 months and have lost 26 lbs. My A1C was 6.1 1 month in so I am looking forward to my next. My bg numbers have been running 85-105 whenever I take it. I was taking 750 er metformin twice daily and my doc told me to try just 1 per day. I have been taking that with breakfast but my morning reading has crept up and was 116 this morning. Should I be taking it with dinner maybe? Will it make a difference?

What are your noon time BG numbers? What is your pre-dinner BG numbers? I’d spend some time tracking and recording your BG numbers for a few weeks before you start worrying. 116 is not that high.

I guess I just want it to be under 100. I’ll give it time and track better through the day. My highest post prandial since starting Keto has been 113. I just didn’t know if there is an optimal time of day to take just one dose. I’ve always been on 2.

I took mine before bed convinced it would help with the nightly insulin dump. I’m no longer on it

Another reason to track!
