Iâll just offer that magnesium can be got for much cheaper by eating leafy greens. I take magnesium glycinate on days I donât get veggies, but otherwise I donât supplement anything.
I have a pretty glycolytic hobby so after starting keto I cramped bad and would occasionally cramp acutely, but mag supplements and salt helped in the short term.
Youâre right that potassium is dangerous in too much, but as it exists in a ratio with sodium, if you can get to sodium balance, youâll spare potassium stores.
Yes all the advice youâre likely to get from us will sound confusing. Weâve all been there and most of us are in completely different places. You may want to go to your doc and ask for Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Complete Blood Count, and a Lipid panel and see what your values are.
Otherwise you and we are all just guessing.
So the point we are trying to make is how do you you are deficient in magnesium or patassium? You ask for advice but do not want to consider that maybe what you are doing currently is not working and that maybe something else may solve the problem.
Tracking apps are useful to understand where hidden carbs are in the beginning. But they have only been available for a a drop of water in the ocean of time. We have evolved and thrived for a long long time without themâŠthis is where listening to you body comes into play.
If something is not working you need to mix it up. And I donât mean popping more supplements.
Itâs ok. You donât have to tell him anything he wonât like.
Just say youâre resolved to just eat whole foods, cutting out processed garbage. Youâre just trying to eat cleaner.
And you want to get some baselines to see if your new dietary intervention will make a difference.
The only thing you really need to watch is your carbs. Eat less than 20g a day. Plenty of people have done well just watching that number and not worrying too much about how much protein or how much fat. Just eat 1,2 or 3 meals and donât snack in-between. It doesnât have to be difficult unless you want it to be
