So I had been following Keto for months now, listened to every podcast out there, joined forums, joined Heal Care and also read the Obesity Code. Now when I read the Obesity Code I thought, “There is absolutely no way” that I could do that!! So now I am beyond proud of myself, I can fast for 20 hours!! so to any of you out there you think you can’t; think again and give it a go!
Don't think you can do it?
And it gets easier. I wasn’t sure how it would go myself the first few times, and It felt a little strange at first just not eating all day. But even going for a few days, I never felt hungry and wanted to continue on. But I still stopped at 72 hours both the last two times.
But it does feel good though.
i did not think it was for me (yet) . i am 4 weeks in to keto until today lol i had a small meal
yesterday lunch time (after a 16:8) the cooked dinner last night, sit down with hubby to eat and just was not hungry so i did not eat ( then i had 3 shots of vodka later on
come on, i did not know i was doing a 24 hour fast lol) so then tis morning i realised what was happening did not eat till 1, so that was 25 hrs in the pocket
(yeah, i know i probably cant count it as a day of fasting because of the vodka like i said, i did not know i was doing one)
p.s is it worth buying the obesity code ?
Yes! Excellent read and gives some very easy to read explanations of how the food/pharmacy status has come to be as well as how to get the body back to doing what it’s really good at doing when it’s not choking on carbs.
I did 24hours this week and I am also noticing a decrease in appetite. I don’t think if is entirely with purpose as it is my body enjoying the enhancement of amino acids and omegas. My body is being fueled properly for the first time in 13 years!
I am thinking about fasting Monday and Tuesday of this week. I have done a five day fast and I know the first two days can be some of the hardest, but I believe that is all I have time for right now. The process should help me continue to grow mentally, physically and spiritually!
Congratulations! It does feel strange to set aside that habit of not stopping to eat during the day.
I agree. Last time I fasted for 4 days I never got super hungry… and no cravings per say… but I MISSED getting to eat.
Purely psychological… but it was there.
For some reason, not HAVING to eat and certainly not worrying about macros or balance or cooking or food choices and not having dishes to wash…those are things I most enjoy about fasting! Starting today, I’m going to work on some shorter fasts of Water only, start that process of convincing my brain I can do longer fasts without the props of bone broth and BPC.
It is amazing how much time we spend buying, cooking, eating food and cleaning up afterwards!
Sometimes I add fat to my coffee on fasts as a crutch but I try to avoid bone broth because of the protein. I am doing it for autophagy and I think the bone broth might stop it. The fat may also but I haven’t acquired a taste for black coffee yet.
I wish there was more human research on autophagy. Sadly, no money to be made when a person fasts so no funding.
