Don't hate me, I passed up a $4.00 mandoline

At a recent rummage sale I found an italian-made, all metal mandoline priced at $4.00 U.S. I looked at it for a long time before I put it down.

I eat so few vegetables any more that it seemed foolish to buy yet another fascinating gadget, despite being one which I had wished for years ago.

Was I crazy?

I’ve wanted a mandoline for years, but since I do play the mandolin, I’d rather have my fingers. Now & then I search Amazon for mandolines, but they all seem too dangerous, even with a cut-resistant glove.

Shaved Meats!

No, you weren’t aren’t crazy. You made a choice and you used logic. What others would do in the same situation matters not.
Keep being you.

The simpler the better. Many ER visits from mandolins. People always ask me if I spiralize my this or that.

Heck nooooo. I buy pre-shedded cabbage ( pan sauté) and get cooking. I don’t have time for that.
