Does smoking a cigar break a fast?

(Ryan) #1

I have been living the keto life for 9 weeks. I have reduced my diabetes meds and love the fact that my blood sugars are improving. I work out 2 to 3 days per week depending on my schedule.

Now to my question, I am not asking if cigar smoking is OK, I feel I know how a lot of people feel about that, but for me it is a way to relax after a long day. This is not an everyday event, but sometimes it would be nice in the middle of a fast. Does smoking break the fasted state?

Thanks for any comments

Can you post the nutrition information label for this cigar?

Seriously, I’m pretty sure you’re ok so long as you don’t, you know, EAT the cigar.

Just don’t smoke a SHITTY $5 cigar!

Yeah, Grass fed, outdoor free roaming cigars only are best on keto… :sunglasses::grin:

@Ryan_Magee or one of those new ones that are sugar dipped. I got a few in a sampler pack and chucked them. One of the grossest things I’ve ever had.

I don’t smoke them often, but I’ve done so fasted. It’s a great way to kill some time while trying to stay distracted from focusing on food.

You are cleaning up your body. Your lungs won’t thank you for the cigars. Dad dying in a terrifying way from COPD, but at least he enjoyed his smokes.

@Baytowvin I have been smoking cigars for about 15 years, and I am with you on the sugar tipped ones.
